The short answers

Do my friends need the app to vote?

No. They open the link you send and vote on a web page — no download, no account, not even an email address. Only the person starting a Chooose needs the app.

How long does voting stay open?

You choose, anywhere from one minute to a full week. Everyone sees the same countdown, and you can end it early whenever you've got enough votes.

Can people see who voted for what?

Only if you let them. Turn names off and votes are recorded as "Voter 2" and "Voter 3" — the names are never stored at all, so there is nothing to leak.

What happens if it's a tie?

A coin flip settles it. It's marked as a tie so nobody thinks the winner ran away with it.

Can I write my own topics?

Yes — every mode lets you write your own question, options, takes or tier list. The built-in library is there for the nights nobody can think of anything.

Is it free?

Yes. Free gets you three groups, Let’s talk about, Would you rather and two themes — and voting is always free for everyone you send a link to. Chooose Pro is $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, and adds Tiers, Hot take, every theme and unlimited groups.
